Mining EMPr Including Burrow Pits
The mining application phase includes preparation and submission of an Environmental Management Programme (EMPr) in terms of section 39 of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act, 2002 (MPRDA). The MPRD Regulations (Regulation 51) specifically require that an EMPR include specific information, some of whichis uniquely different from the EMPr required in the EIA Regulations.
